Submissions
The Triple Tiki Challenge!
Ready to have your own work critiqued? We ask that you submit the first 3 pages of your novel-length work-in-progress along with your best attempt at back cover copy (the short description you find on the back cover of most books). Please understand that this is not a contest. We will select pieces to read on air solely based on which submissions will make for the most interesting discussions. If we pick or don’t pick your submission, this is neither an endorsement nor an indictment of the work’s quality.
What we will do:
- Read your work aloud on air
- Offer honest feedback to help you improve your work
- Offer honest feedback to help our listeners become better writers
- Accept critique submissions from any commercial genre (mystery, crime, suspense, romance, science fiction, fantasy, etc.)
What we won’t do:
- Share your name on air
- Help you make contacts (agents, editors, or anybody else) in the writing industry
- Make fun of you or your work
- Publish your work in any way other than reading it aloud during our broadcasts
- Accept critique submissions for nonfiction, memoir, or screenplays
What you need to do:
- Write back cover copy for your book (max 250 words)
- Append the first 3 pages of your novel so that both back cover copy and first 3 pages are contained in same document
- Submissions must be .doc or .docx
- Submissions must be double spaced with 1 inch margins
- Please, no fancy fonts or other pretty formatting
